Biography
As a trial attorney that focuses on family law, criminal defense and civil litigation, Jon is dedicated to helping the people of Oldham and Shelby counties move past difficult moments in their lives. An experienced and skilled trial attorney, Jon has successfully tried over 50 jury trials to verdict. Despite being at home in the courtroom, Jon prides himself on his willingness to sit down with his clients and really listen. He is also willing to provide meaningful feedback to his clients on how to best present themselves and their side of the story.
Jon’s background in psychology (Ph.D. in Biopsychology) helps him to effectively and persuasively frame information when presenting it to judges, juries and prosecutors for the benefit of his clients. He understands and recognizes that the truth most often lies somewhere in the middle and a case is never as straightforward as it appears when reading a police report or a motion from the other side. A successful defense starts with learning about the client and making sure that his or her voice is heard as the case progresses.
Before moving with his family to Kentucky, Jon worked for a combined four years as a deputy district attorney prosecuting felony and misdemeanor crimes in Colorado. These experiences gave Jon invaluable insight into how the criminal justice system works, how it should work and how it can break down. In addition, Jon traveled with his family to Baltimore, Maryland where he had the opportunity to work for a premier civil defense firm doing work on national products liability cases. Attorney Jon R. Fee is licensed to practice in Kentucky, Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the Southern District of Indiana (federal court) and the State of Maryland.
At home in Oldham County, Jon spends his free time with his wife, Sarah, and two boys, Henry & Finley. Jon is proud to serve the people of Oldham County as a volunteer firefighter with the North Oldham Fire Department. When not with his family, Jon enjoys ice hockey, golf, fishing and bow hunting.
